Evening Take a Stroll around Phuntosholing Market Area. In the Centre
of the Town, Visit Zangtho Perli Temple which represents the heaven
of Guru Rinpoche. On Ground level there are statues of eight manifestations
of Guru Rimpoche and paintings on Bhuddha's life.

PHUNTSHOLING - THIMPU
(175 kms, 6 hrs)
After Breakfast proceed to Thimpu, Bhutan's Capital Town situated
at the Altitude of 7,500 feet. This drive is very pleasant with numerous
scenic spots enroute. Just ahead of Phuntosholing, visit Kharbandhi
Gompa, the beautiful Monastery situated in Garden of Tropical Plants
and flowers founded in 1967 by Royal Grand Mother. From the Monastery
Garden there is fascinating vies of Phuntosholing Town and the surrounding
Plains.
P.M. Arrive Thimpu during lunch time & transfer to Hotel.
City Sightseeing of Timpu Visit to Memorial Chorten, the Stupa built
in the memory of Bhutan's third King, His Late Majesty King Jifme
Dorji Wangchuch who is popularly regarded as Father of Modern Bhutan.
The Paintings and statues inside the monument provide a rare insight
into Bhuddist Philosophy. Then visit Tashichhodozng, the beautiful
medeival fortress / monastery which houses most of the Government
Offices and King's Throne Room. It is also the Summer Residence of
Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. Evening Free for Shopping.

THIMPU - PUNAKHA
(75 kms, 2 & half hrs)
After Breakfast Thimpu Sightseeing. Visit to National Library which
holds vast collection of ancient Buddist Texts, manuscripts and printing
blocks for prayer flags. Then visit painting School,famous for traditional
thankha paintings. Visit to Traditional Medicine Institute is worthwhile
where centuries old healing arts are still practised. After lunch
drive to Punakha across Dochula Pass (alt 3,100m) that heralds the
most enchanting views of Bhutan. Untill 1955 Punakha Served as the
capital of Bhutan and still it is the winter seat of Chief abbot.

PUNAKHA - WANGDIPHODRANG
- PARO (150 kms, 5 hrs)
A.M. visit to Punakha Dzong, if the
monks are in Thimpu. Built strategically at the junction of Pho Chu
and Mo Chu rivers in 1637, by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as
religious & adminstrative centre of the region.
Then drive to Wangdiphodrang which is the last town before central
Bhutan. It is like an enlarged village with a few well provided shops.
This district is also famous for its bamboo work, slate, stone carvings.
Visit to Wangdi Dzong, sitting on top of the hill at the confluence
of Punakha Chu and Tang Chu rivers.
AFTER LUNCH drive to Paro enroute visiting Simtokha Dzong, the oldest
fortress of the kingdom, built in 1627 which now houses the school
for buddhist studies. PARO Evening Arrive Paro & Transfer to the Hotel.

PARO
After Breakfast Visit Ta Dzong, orignally built as watch tower,since
1967 it has been serving as the National Museum of the country. It
holds facinating collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha paintings
& Bhutan's Exquisite Postal stamps.The Walk down the trail to visit
Rinpung Dzong (Dzong - fortress/monastery) also known as the fortress
of the heap of jewels it was built during the time of Shabdrung Ngawang
Namgyal in 1646. This fortress has a long and fascinating history.
AFTER LUNCH drive to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong. This Dzong with
a delightful village nestling at its foot was built in 1646 by Shabdrung
Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate victory over Tibetan invaders led by
the Mongolion Warlord, Gushri Khan. On a clear day, one can see commanding
view of Mount Chomolhari from the village nestled below the Dzong.
On return to Paro Valley visit enroute Kyichu Lhakahng one of the
oldest and most sacred shrines of Bhutan reflecting the introduction
of Buddhism in the Kingdom. Also visit the Traditional Bhutanses farm
houses which offers a good insight into lifestyle of farmer and local
people.

PARO - DELHI
After Early breakfast in the hotel, drive to the Airport for flight
to onward destination. During this flight you will have a fascinating
view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga,Makalu and other prominent peaks.
Evening leave Paro for Delhi by air.
